Ever hear the expression, “I just want to feel like my old self again!” Have you seen her lately? Maybe she’s hiding behind a laptop,cell phone, laundry baskets, napping (a lot), or behind the wheel running endless errands. It’s time to find your “old self”…that content, fun, laughing-out-loud self! What better time to do it than summer?
Here’s how you can can find her:
1. Give yourself 20 minutes to go through old photos or on your phone – good emotions will arise. When they do, ask yourself what’s giving you those feelings. Was it a vacation, time with your family, fun hobby, girl’s weekend, beautiful scenery, hitting a goal? Take a baby step in that direction. Good self-care!
2. Ask yourself when was the last time you felt your best. Go there in your mind, get a mental picture of yourself at that time. What were doing? Where were you? Who were you with? What is the feeling you feel? Take a baby step to reclaim that positive feeling about yourself. Keep that image alive daily to make progress. You will get there!
